Visit Talgo

In my opinion, the Talgo visit was very interesting. I learnt a lot about train construction and I really enjoyed seeing an old train to compare it with current trains.

On 28th October twenty students and teachers from the EOI Miranda visited the Talgo Factory. This visit was very interesting!

We saw all the processes to build trains, differences between the coaches and the locomotive, materials and main characteristics of these trains, amongst other things.

In my opinion, it's important to explain that this factory has six hundred workers, who are working in 45 different parts of the process in the factory.

The coaches are moved on railway lines in the factory and the different jobs, from the  original to the finishing one. We started with empty coaches, which are made from aluminum.

Our visit was completed with a train. This train was fitted with furniture, toilets, tinted windows, etc.

A Talgo engineer, explained to us that they have two important projects at the moment: one for Kazakhstan and another one for Saudi-Arabia.

One of the main characteristics of Talgo trains is its lightness.

The EOI Miranda visits are highly recommended.

On Wednesday 28th October we visited TALGO Miranda. Our guide taught us the manufacturing process of the carriages for the AVE trains.

They use with very light materials such as aluminium to get high performance and endurance.

Besides, Talgo trains are highly valued worldwide for their safety and fast speed. These trains can reach 350 km an hour.

An interesting visit.
