EOI students visit the Fire station

On Wednesday 25th November 2015, 14 EOI students received a fantastic explanation of the fire station, firefighter tools and vehicles.
It was a pity that after 50 minutes of the very interesting visit; suddenly the firefighters had an emergency and had to leave quickly.
From my point of view, the most important aspect was that we could learn important issues about fire safety and emergency situations (in English language).
And finally, I want to express my gratitude towards Jose Luis, the firefighter, for being kind, polite and a good laugh with us.

The students at the EOI thank José L, the firefighter, for doing a great tour in English of the fire station.

On Wednesday 25th November 2015, 14 EOI students visited the fire station in Miranda.
I truly enjoyed this visit because we could see the different fire trucks and equipment they use to extinguish fires.
Moreover, we learnt a lot about what to do in a fire while firemen arrive. We also had the opportunity to see how fast the firefighters are ready to go in case of emergency when we witnessed a real fire alarm.
In order to finish the tour, we spent a good time in the gym of the fire station.

A group of EOI students and our teacher Pilar went to visit the Fire Station of Miranda de Ebro.
It was really interesting! A kind firefighter explained to us all the equipment they use daily. We saw the different tracks they have and all their equipment, such as the breathing apparatus, the helmet, the ladder, the hose or the axe. All these tools and their clothing are really expensive, because they are professional and fire proof material. They must withstand 260ºC for five minutes without burning or melting.
Another interesting thing was when the tour guide gave us some advice about prevention and how to proceed in case of fire or other dangerous situations.
After that, our firefighter had to leave us because there was an emergency, the alarm went off and fire men had to extinguish a fire in Bayas and do their job: save lives.
It was an enjoyable and very exciting experience.
